2014-2015 season

25 June 2015/by CTJFC

Minis – New This Season

This activity on Sunday mornings was started this season by Chris Edwards and Tang for boys and girls aged 4-6 years old.

U6s – FORMING NEW U7s – SEASON 2015-16

This page was in preparation for forming the new U7s for Season 2015-16 with the return of Rowan Kitton and Steve Martin in the roles of Manager and assistant .

U7s – Thank you

As the new team joining an already established club for season 2014/15 was an honour and privilege and an experience I would not change for anything as I have watched some truly great children grow as individuals and a team, roll on season 2015/16.

I would just like to say a huge well done to all the under 7’s for the great effort you have all put in this year, roll on next season when your next game will be as Under 8’s.

I would also to thank all the parents for your commitment, I could not have done all the work I have done without your dedication towards your children and the efforts you have put in both at training and matchdays.

I would like too thank my more than capable assistants for all their dedication and hard work this season and I look forward to working with you all again next season, I could not have done it all without you guys so thankyou so much Kevin, Patrick and Ian.

U8s – What An Amazing Season The U8’s Had!

Wow! What a season with some mixed results at the start but we found our form towards the end and it was brilliant to see the new children settle in quickly and add value. It was great to see the existing team continue to grow with confidence. Thanks all for the support and commitment really looking forward to next seasons two team format . Big thanks to the coaching team and parents for their support. Special mention to those who got an award this is well deserved for your hard work keep on working hard!

U12s Cobras – Tough Season But We Stuck Together

One thing is for certain – U12’s play football for enjoyment and not because of the results. It’s a good job because we’d have given up and gone home a long time before the end of April if that wasn’t the case.

This team have phenomenal spirit and enthusiasm, working hard on the pitch during games but laugh and joke during training – whilst putting the effort in there too.

Of course the wins against Sandbach and Winsford were great but there were so many other high points that have kept us feeling proud of ourselves.

Harry in goals on numerous occasions made saves that were out of this world. When he came to play out on the left in the latter part of the season, he really made a difference.

Olly stepped back from defensive duties when Harry ventured out and his bravery and enthusiasm were great.

James has bossed everybody around and swung that left foot on numerous occasions to clear the ball.

Kieran came to us just this year and has settled in well. Whilst he’s quiet at times, he can be one of the most effective defenders on the pitch.

Dan again came to us this year and wow – what an improvement! His reading of the game and composure have developed so much.

Ciaran – he’s here, he’s there, he’s every flipping where!

Kailumb is our central defensive rock. On so many occasions he was the last man standing and got us out of trouble.

Reuben has some of the best ball skills on the team and can really boss the game – when he’s not had a sleep over.

Caden is without doubt one of the best all round footballers we have. If only he believed it – he’d be awesome.

Matthew can play anywhere but settled in to a midfield roll in front of the back four and time after time was our man of the match. His energy and commitment are fantastic

Jacob is always keen to have the ball at his feet and a sweet striker of the ball

Alistair – our very own Billy Whizz and Golden Boot for this season. His pace caused every defense we played against enormous problems and we’re really looking forward to building our composure next season

Let’s stick together lads and with the new recruits and moving to 11-a-side, who knows what will be possible!

U14s Astros – Season Round Up

After a summer reduction in squad size, the new season brought better competition for places and the result was a higher level of football played throughout the season.
Teams such as Middlewich which were better than us last season were comprehensively beaten and , with the exception of the top two teams, all games were close with 9 games having only 1 goal in it. With 2/3 players leaving us to pursue other interests, we will be able to bring in replacement players to hopefully make the squad stronger and progress further next season. Thanks to all players and parents for their support and hopefully that will continue into 2015/16.

U14s – Progress Made Once More

After a summer reduction in squad size, the new season brought better competition for places and the result was a higher level of football played throughout the season.

U15s Astros – Stronger As The Season Went On

This season the team really showed how the team has moved on, with high hopes for the the season, the lads had a number of significant results … but it included both highs and lows.

Finishing with a flourish to confirm 4th spot, the whole team pulled together with determination to finish as high up the table as possible, results against the top 3 teams though would be the deciding factor, the harsh winter and subsequent pitch conditions went against our playing style. They had worked hard on playing the ball on the ground, lots of passing … how the game should be played but countless puddles of water and mud meant we were slow to alter our game and the opposition took advantage on each occasion.

The last game of the season against Grappenhall would confirm 4th spot and promotion to the first division once again. The Astros over the years have always opened up the squad to new players giving opportunity to new players each season which has always made it difficult to ‘gel’ the squad BUT this year they were fantastic.

We look forward to keeping the team together, adding a few new players and embrace the challenge of division 1 next season.

U16s – Long Hard Season!

It’s been a long tough hard season for the u16s going into the top division, but we adapted very well and everyone put in maximum effort throughout each game.
All the lads made fantastic improvements during the second half of the season!
Hopefully we can carry this on into the next season.
